I’ve made it no secret I’ve battled with Lyme disease (Borrelia Burgdorferi) and the co-infections that typically go with it. It was brutal but the experience led me to Field Control Therapy (FCT) – first as a client and then the training to become an FCT Practitioner.
Around 2010, I had been suffering from daily fevers, night sweats, depression, palpitations, nausea, fatigue, tingling feet, the feeling of sunburned skin, and more. This was before tick diseases were widely recognized in Wisconsin. I never had the bull’s eye rash or a known exposure.
I sought help at two major hospital networks with various providers and specialists. Eventually, I was referred to an infectious disease specialist. He ran more labs but recommended a pain clinic. Back then, referring to a pain clinic was typically done when no one knew what to do with you. I was disheartened, discouraged, and still very ill. A week or so later, I received a call from the doctor regarding the lab results. He said he was surprised but it showed positive for ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis – both tick-borne illnesses that matched my symptoms.
This was the first time someone found evidence that it wasn’t just “in my head”. He said all I needed to do was take 10 days of the antibiotic doxycycline. I was elated.
I took that doxycycline religiously and stayed out of the sun. My symptoms started resolving. I hadn’t felt this good in years! The antibiotic was completed and about three days later, I started feeling unwell again. Then the fevers and other symptoms returned. I reached out and the doctor extended the doxycycline. When I finished, the same thing happened again. And again. I ended up keeping a calendar the entire summer documenting my medication and symptoms.
Despite taking the antibiotic doxycycline most of the summer, the symptoms did not resolve. The doctor said it should have worked and was unable to help further. I was back to square one. At this point, I took a deeper dive into alternative modalities as doctors and drugs were not the answer.
I tried a lot of alternative approaches without lasting success. Eventually, I saw an FCT Practitioner and within six months, had noticed a significant positive shift. The wellness journey had begun and I got my life back.

Tick-borne illnesses are tricky business. Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete similar to syphilis. The spirochete can go anywhere in the body. Lyme disease is often called “the great imitator“. It is a known thing in today’s world that patients with Lyme disease are frequently misdiagnosed with labels such as depression, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s, dementia, etc. More commonly we hear complaints about brain fog and joint pain. People often accept it as “getting old”.
Unfortunately, we can have other related exposures. The spirochetes have been detected in semen and vaginal secretions. We know Lyme disease can be transmitted from the mother to her baby during pregnancy. They have detected Lyme bacteria in saliva, urine, donated blood, and breast milk. I swear, up here in the Upper Midwest, just about everyone has been exposed, whether they know it or not.
“The germ is nothing. The terrain is everything.”
Louis Pasteur

Most of us are probably familiar with germ theory. Microorganisms (bacteria, viruses…) make us sick. Mr. Pasteur was a strong proponent of the germ theory but is said to have recanted with the above quote on his deathbed.
Rudolf Virchow, who is attributed as the “father of the germ theory”, in his advanced age said,
Think about it. Multiple people can be equally exposed to the same pathogen but not all will develop the illness. And even the ones who do become ill will vary in severity. Why? The terrain.
The creator of FCT, Dr. Yurkovsky, sums up our typical, modern, medical approach in this quote:
Both laymen and doctors look for the strongest thing that ‘kills’. The truth is that all [allopathic] treatments are good at killing, in a narrow sense. The lie that no one wants to speak about is that, strictly speaking, chronic infections are not killable in a broader sense, because it is the body’s immune and other multiple weaknesses that sustain chronic infections and, therefore, until weaknesses are skillfully addressed (versus just drugs or holistic medicine/natural bombardments), these infections will keep reoccurring.

Back when I had the tick bacteria illnesses, I already had a history of being susceptible to every illness that came around. I switched nursing positions at one point so I wouldn’t be as exposed to sick patients. I understand now but did not back then. My immune & endocrine systems were burdened – mostly with heavy metals which are known to be immuno-toxic. When the immune system is struggling due to toxic exposures, it can’t perform as it should. The main areas of the immune system are the bone marrow (red & white blood cells are made here), lymph, thymus, spleen, etc. We become more susceptible to germs if the underlying weaknesses in our body, the terrain, are not addressed.
Many alternative modalities focus on the “issue” that has taken hold (mold, bacteria, parasites, heavy metals, etc.) but most do not address the reason the problem has surfaced. This is just one of the reasons Field Control Therapy has lasting, meaningful effects.
Clients with Lyme or other tick vector signals energetically indicated with FCT testing have reported improvements in:
- energy
- sleep
- mood
- headaches
- cognition
- depression
- palpitations
- back pain
- muscle pain
- how often they seek chiropractic care
- aching, numbness, burning, pins/needles, sunburn, & tingling sensations
- nausea
- fever
- night sweats
- appetite
- tinnitus
- weakness
- poor coordination

There are meaningful, alternative approaches to improving wellness. Myself and others are proof.
Please share this. So many are struggling and seeking answers.
